Five Beauty/ Health Uses for Apple Cider Vinegar!

Hey, Barbizon of Akron! Apple cider is officially back with a vengeance! And do you know what else is? Apple cider vinegar! The inexpensive health and beauty tool has many uses which can be incorporated into your daily or weekly health/ beauty routine! Try some of these below and then head over to our Facebook Page and let us know how they worked out!

Toner: Since apple cider vinegar works to reduce inflammation and eliminate bacteria, it’s an excellent toner for problematic skin. In an airtight container, combine 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 8 ounces of water.
Soak a cotton ball with the mixture and apply to your face. While this mixture is budget friendly, even highly paid stars swear by it, including Scarlett Johansson.

Hair Rinse: Whether you’re battling buildup resulting from product usage or you’re having problems with dandruff, apple cider vinegar can come to the rescue! To combat product buildup, spritz a 50/50 ratio of ACV to water into your hair after shampooing. Allow it to soak in for 5 to 10 minutes, then rinse.

For dandruff: You’ll also use a 50/50 ACV to water mixture in a spray bottle, but you’ll concentrate the spray onto your scalp. Wrap your hair in a towel, and allow it to sit for 20-30 minutes before rinsing. Always remember to avoid your eyes and ears when using the spray.

Sunburn: Try adding one cup of apple cider vinegar to a cool bath. The ACV helps to re-balance the skin’s pH levels and assists in warding off infection and inflammation.

Digestion: You are what you eat! If you have problems with digestion, those issues will show up in your skin as dryness, sallowness, textural problems, or acne. As we age, the stomach tends to produce less hydrochloric acid, which is necessary in productive digestion. Apple cider vinegar acts to enhance the acids and digestive enzymes in your stomach. Add 2 to 3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to 8 ounces of water as a tonic each morning.

Bonus: This tonic also boosts your immune system and can help with weight management when taken before meals. It has been reported that is how Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas stays slim. Fergie has said: “I do vinegar shots. It has to be organic apple cider, unfiltered. Two tablespoons. For some reason I’ve noticed a difference on my stomach.” It helps to cleanse the colon, reduce bloating and cut cravings.
