UPDATE!!!! AWESOME NEWS Barbizon of Akron's Drew Tyler Bell WINS Daytime Emmy

Sound the trumpets and start hootin' and hollerin' because yes it's true all of our favorite Barbizon Blogger reader friends, that Mr. Drew Tyler Bell who got his start at Barbizon of Akron walked home with a Daytime Emmy last evening! What a truly memorable moment for one of our most famed alumni and what a terrific speech to boot! In case you missed the great honor being presented to Drew last evening, he was awarded the Daytime Emmy for "Younger Actor" for his role of "Thomas Forrester" on the widely watched Soap, "The Bold and the Beautiful".

We couldn't be more proud!

BREAKING NEWS! Barbizon of Akron Alum Drew Tyler Bell Up for a Daytime Emmy!


We are so excited to report that our very own Drew Tyler Bell originally from Wooster, Ohio who got his start at Barbizon of Akron has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy! Drew has been nominated for the "Best Young Actor" award due to his role on the popular daytime Soap Opera the "The Bold and the Beautiful"

This prestigious awards show is scheduled to air this Sunday evening, June 20, 2010 and will be awarding potential nominees in 68 categories. For those of you not familiar with the Daytime Emmy awards, they have been honoring excellence in all fields of daytime broadcast production for 36 years!!! The Emmy awards season culminates with a televised show that pays tribute to the exceptional work of the daytime broadcasting's elite and this time we are proud to say that Drew is a part of that elite group! What an accomplishment! Be sure to tune in and watch the Awards show for yourself to not only support a fellow Barbizon 'er but also a talented dude who is originally from this area!

Barbizon of Akron Graduate Mike Lupton Making It BIG in Los Angeles

Well, well, well just listen to what Barbizon of Akron Alum Mike Lupton has been up to since he made the BIG move out to LA from his home town, Fairview Park, Ohio… This talented laddie has not only been working like crazy making appearances on cool shows like, 90210, and the ABC program, “The Middle”. In addition to television appearances Mike was also featured in a film titled: “Sweet Pea” produced specifically for the Breast Cancer Awareness Society – needless to say it was not only terrific experience for Mike but quite humbling to be a part of such a special production with a meaningful cause and audience. We all know that fervent auditioning is the only way to ensure you get booked for a job, and auditioning has been the name of the game for Mike who is up for roles in several projects/tv shows including: Big Momma’s House 3 which he earned a callback for, the new “Transformers” movie, Gray’s Anatomy, NCIS, Cold Case Files, a new Sour Patch Kids commercial, AND he is up for the role of “Williard” in the re-make of “Footloose”. Wow wee! What a busy dude! How did he get so darn lucky? A terrific manager – Mike gained representation by his current manager due to his participation in the IMTA convention with PMTM. Sooo needless to say watch for Mike everywhere! With all of these awesome opportunities and auditions he’s slowly taking Hollywood by storm.

Hate heading out to the busy grocery store on a Saturday afternoon? You may change your mind after you find out where Annie was hiding out on a recent weekend - that's right, she was setting up shop at a local Giant Eagle store in the cosmetics aisle where she willfully made many shoppers extra-glam by applying the latest and greatest make-up shades for spring. Shoppers not only left with items for their barren cupboards and fridges but a brand new look to sport for the weekend evening fun that was ahead of them... Ooohh and did we mention Annie had coupons and samples too??

A Whole Slew of Barbizon of Akron Graduates in Print for Dick's Sporting Goods



Soccer, track, baseball, football - OH MY! Dick’s Sporting Goods is at it again booking our fabulous Barbizon of Akron graduates left and right for wonderful opportunities to be featured not only on the pages of the company's seasonal magalog, but also for in-store signage. You can see the very fit Alexandra Ball, Kelly Holtz, and Bretton Kastor looking super athletic in the fall magalog that will be in stores just in time for the "Back to School" rush. On the flip side, cutie Jacob Margolis and Jake Semonin will be showing their pearly whites on in-store signage! Who else?? Yep, we're not done yet! Taylor Peters was requested back for more backpack shots while camera-lovin' Jason Bivins was in full baseball regalia for a baseball themed shoot!

Barbizon of Akron Grads in Print for Longaberger


A tisket and tasket! Yup that's right, the famous basket company Longaberger called upon Barbizon of Akron Graduates Sara Brandt and Annalisa Buehler for some print work recently! Our photogenic and chock-full-o-skills models shot down in Powell, Ohio - close to Columbus and had a TERRIFIC time!!! The shoot was for the fall Longaberger catalog and the theme was a fun "Gals Night Out"/Purse party - what's more fun than hanging out with girlfriends on set and making a pretty penny too!? Sweet!
